The calculator compares the two dates of birth directly on the calendar. It counts the whole years between them, then the remaining whole months, then the leftover days — the same way you would work out an age by hand. Because it uses real calendar dates, months with 28, 29, 30 or 31 days and leap years are all handled correctly.

Does the age gap calculator account for leap years?
Yes. The calculation uses real calendar dates, so February 29 and varying month lengths are handled correctly. The total days figure counts every actual day between the two dates of birth.
What is the difference between an age gap and an age difference?
They mean the same thing here — the time between two dates of birth, expressed in years, months and days. "Age gap" is the more common everyday phrase.
Can the two dates of birth be in any order?
