How do I calculate the days between two dates?
Enter a start date and an end date. The calculator counts the actual calendar days between them, accounting for leap years and varying month lengths, and also breaks the gap into years, months and days.
Does the date difference calculator include leap years?
Yes. Because the calculation uses real calendar dates, February 29 in leap years is counted correctly, as are months of 28, 30 and 31 days.
What is the difference between total days and years/months/days?
Total days is a single count of every calendar day between the two dates. The years, months and days breakdown expresses the same span the way you would describe it in conversation, e.g. "1 year, 2 months and 5 days".
Can the end date be before the start date?
Yes. Enter the dates in either order and the calculator shows the positive difference between them.
